Hi guys,
How about the mje340/350 pair, can I substitute that for the 2n3440/5415 pair? I found some. 🙂

Long time no post 🙂
Hi joan2!
Just finished first channel of my Leach amp project! 😎 It was a really challenging task, it took almost 3 nights of slow (but sure) electronics tinkering! At least the remaining channel pcb has been populated and tested, all that remains is the output.
The one that was finished sounds great. Worth the sleepless nights.
Transistors used for FYI:
MPSA06
MPSA56
MJE340
MJE350
MJE15030
MJE15031
MJ15024
MJ15025
Still using my old 44-0-44/4A test power supply I used for the modified P3A.
Thanks to all those who shared in my questions, this one's for all of us!

How I wish I have a digital cam so that I can show you this beautiful amp!
The pcb really looks cute!
Cheers!

jojo,
good work, with that you can add another 2 pairs of outputs so you can do 4 ohm loads, Vcc could go as high as +/- 70 volts or so.
cheers!!!

Joan,
With the speakers I am using, the amp only gets hot at really high volumes and man, this one's very loud. I still have only one channel working and still need to finish the other one soon.
Once finished, we'll talk mods 😎 Or maybe a SuperLeach Amp?

jojo,
should you decide to do the super leach amp, i'll be very willing to design for you the power transformer, a 2kva EI core, with 65-0-65 volt secondary and have "podmon" in legarda build it for you...

okidoki!
joan,
I still haven't touched the other channel since I've been working (hope to save enough money for the super amp)
. However, that seems nice since I get time to observe the working channel of my leach amp. Maybe you can send me an email regarding the cost of the transfo so that I have an idea.
cheers!
