Drossel is Choke
Spannung vor der Drossel 22,95V, hinter der Drossel 20,97V
Drossel is Choke
Ah yes 🙂
The choke (throttle) has a small DC Resistance so, you're dropping a little voltage across it.
Adjust the bias for around 2A and you're there.

Hello Mike ,
compliments for your excellent channel and videos and site .
Do you have a couple of 2SK180 spare to send ?
thanks

Thanks, Stefano 🙂
At the moment, I'm down to only six pieces, but I may have some more on the way.

Nice to hear

Where can I get a pair too? Just in case... 😀
Ciao!
You guys may want to check out eyelabo_jp. They seem to be selling good parts. Your mileage may vary.
Thanks, Stefano 🙂

Thanks Mike .
I also am curious to know what is the gain of L'amp 2SK180 . Hearing from the super nice youtube video , I would say it is greater than 8 . Am I wrong?

No no, we want yours! 😛
Thank you fro the info, they seems quite rare even on ebay, I'll keep both eyes opened. Can you also post the scheme of the new amp? Is it the same as the first version of L'amp with degeneration?
Thank you very much! You revive my interest in solid state!
Indeed, it's around 11.2
The sound is recorded in the nearfield in mono in an attempt to give some impression of the sound without some of the in-room junk our brain filters out for us.
In the future I may just sample the audio at the speaker terminals themselves. Silly perhaps, but there's no good way to convey the sound, so I experiment a little.

I eliminated the degeneration without any thermal troubles. Just don't be greedy and try to use a 50k input resistor 🙂
Use a 10k and adjust the amp after an hour or two and keep an eye on it until you're satisfied.
It's fixed bias, so you'll need a separate voltage reference for that.
I'll be detailing more specifics in the upcoming load line video.
Thanks Mike .

The µ of 2sk180 is 10.

few ideas for live lab - altering load lines (degeneration , goal - 45deg aligned perfect triode load lines ) , sound with same , cascoding - to hear it without Mr. Mueller
etc.
Certainly, yes. Thank you.
After load lines, we'll go back to feedback. I have something surprising to show you about cascodes.

put them back to back?
@ Gadut
Back to back are little to much...
generic transistor TO-3 package picture show you all details.
Vfet Sony case is the drain.
Attach your L profile with minimum four screws
to heavy big heatsink with lot thermal paste grease
in between for good transfer of heat
like usualy in all class A amplifiers.
I try and its work for me to clean L profile
with small fine grains sand paper i polish
them is easy brigh like new and free from
oils or dust. Good luck in diy the amplifiers.
Greetings

running 3 paralel projects : dac ad1865, AlephJ, SIT L'amp. each of them had been initiated more than 1yr but none completed, maybe i just love soldering and drilling.
for SIT, i got 4U chassis, together with AJ in monoblock. i'm still finding best compromised layout, already prepared UMS on heatsink to be drilled, L profile fits perfectly on the middle buttom of UMS
