Krell KSA 50 PCB

Combining the main PCB and the outputboard sounds good! I am interested in it.

Maybey nobody read me earlyer post, where i asked if the PSU from the site of Rod Elliot (capacitance multplier) can be used for the Krell-cone. Is there anyone who can tell the answer??

I have used a cap multiplier several times. I think they work best in low power applications. In a preamp or phono they seem to be fine.
When I have used them in a power amp with amps and not milli amps running through they seemed to degrade the sound. What I heard was hash, and more edge.
The passive filteration is much better to my ears. I can locate big beefy frame type chokes locally cheap. A CLC filter is easy on the rectifiers and the transformers if the first cap is reasonably sized.
I think a CLC filter really helps get the glare out of solid state equipment.

I build a cap. mult. too, and used it in combination with a selfmade Hiraga le Monstre. I was not satisfied; it didn't sound very weel i.m.o..

I also used it with selfmade poeramp Bebe-T, and tat sound much better.

I think i leave the Krell-clone as origial as possible, and build the common PSU for it.

Hi All-

As mentioned before I am planning on having a vertical chassis made similar to the Mark Levinson #33. I have attached a rough sketch of the layout and would like any pointers on what I may be missing.

I am referring to things like vertical orientation of the main board or proximity of the main board to the output devices. Such things as H fields around the chassis affecting the low level circuitry..

I am planning to have 1/4" aluminum between the 3 "levels" of the amp dividing the chassis into 3 sections.. AC on bottom, DC in the middle, and signal/output on the top.

It is a 3 channel amp. and isn't it ironic that I'm building a Krell clone in a ML clone chassis!!!

Any constructive criticism is welcome..

That is one place where I tried one too. The sonics were degraded The noise seemed higher with it than without. In my Pearl phono there is a series regulator and a cap multiplier. Both work fine. In the Zen V4 is helped the noise a lot, but seemed to hurt the sonics.
My 100 dB efficient speakers make a real quiet amp a must.

Really do not loose your time, he is miles ahead of all of us...

Related the experience to produce those things.

His work is perfect, and he accept to negotiate with parts, with transistors and electronic components, not only money.

here is my Christmas gift to you...he loved to make those precious boards. this is a fun to him...he has explendid work, do that to have fun, his hobbie and passion.

But do not like to make propaganda... will asked me to shut my big mouth i am sure.

But see that job, and tell me if i am wrong!
