"I have looked at adding a two transistor CCS to the PCB but it's going to look messy, even piggy back fashion.
If I add a few components to stiffen the CCS rail supply and clean up any rail modualtion then the one component 1n5309/509 becomes ten components, even messier. "
Andrew,
This wouldn't look so bad if a small board were done to allow it to be connected to the back of the existing board. Could you please post your design so I could try it???
Thanks,
Mark

Best would be to have them hop over all at once, i can do the 1N5309 distributing to the KSA100MKII bandits on this continent.
Grab Mark's offer while it's hot.
Great idea Jacco, Thanks for the offer. Hopefully some will take advantage of it and that too will save more $$ for all involved.

Hi Mark,
I'll do a schematic Sunday.
40 components (+2*stripboard) averaging 10cents comes to a lot less than 4*$4.29+postage. It's that Scot poking out from behind the curtain again!
But will it work as well?
Thanks for offering to be the guinea pig.

I hope I'm not too late. I'd like to order 5 of those (4 and one spare).
(I'm not totally up to date on this, but it's two per board, isn't it?)
I'm in the UK.
Regards
P.S: Lovely boards! Got them yesterday from Steen.

So it be $4.29 x 4 = $17.16 for stereo
S&H handling $4.95
total cost = $22.11 ???
If this is correct, count me in...
Hi,
would it be daft to consider a To92 regulator wired as CCS as a substitute for the FET CCS?
Any more (UK) candidates for the FETs in the second stage?

Hi Mark,
I will take the four gold plated boards and 1N5309's.
I will send you an email.
Thanks
Harry
someone have link to data of origigi-like Krell's hetsinks?
I wait for one big chunk -cutting it in two I'll have exactly same ones as is KSA150's.......
what I'm looking for is theirs potential in passive mode........
just thinking......

Thanks for helping us foreigners!

Hi Mark,
here's the two BJT CCS.
R5 is a dummy load to represent the FET LTP.
The resistor values are set up for +Vrail=+52Vdc and Zener=20V, 400mW.
The other CCS will use a PNP pair and the polarised components are reversed.
To all,
What repercussions are there with using the 22uF electrolytic?
Is there any advantage to swapping out R1=220r and replacing with 270r//2kpot to allow accurate setting of the LTP tail currents?

Here is the list so far of those wanting 1N5309's. We are at 85 so far..... If we get to 100 the price goes down a tuny bit more to 3.99 each. The list as I have figured it so far is below. If I have left your name off or have the quantity wrong it is just by accident so please let me know.
Thanks,
Mark
