Hi all, does anyone know the number of Q101 on the main board. The sub in, off of the input board, is fed to this transistor through a resistor and cap. The transistor is shorting the signal to ground. The number on the transistor is BA21. I tried searching specks for this on line. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Is this an smt? If you a post pic of the board and a close up of Q101 and surrounding circuit I may be able to identify part. I will check schematics.
Also, check the DC voltages on all the pins on input board, black probe on one of the transformer center tap leads.

Hi PapaZBill, It's a TO-92 case style. Like a MPSA06 or KTC3118 or 2SC945. It might be like a mute transistor or such. Thanks.
That's what I'm thinking maybe a J109 and it will normally read low in circuit. If the muting voltage is low (normally +10v I think). If this voltage is wrong it will ground the input signal.

I forgot to add. All voltages check normal. I have signal off the input board. This transistor tests shorted between E-C, assuming it's a regular transistor, shorting the signal to ground before it gets to the A to D converter circuit.
