Kenwood KAC-PS401m stuck in protection

R2 and R1 are on the input/ crossover board

This may be a bit risky but at this point, it may speed things up.

You will need to tightly clamp all heatsink-mounted components tightly to the heatsink. I'd recommend inserting a 10 amp fuse in series with the B+ supply line.

You will need to short between the collector and emitter of Q9. You can do this after the amp is powered up with the tip of a meter probe. When you do this, does the amp draw excessive current?

Does it begin to produce the rail and regulated voltages?

Will the relays engage?
 
Is there any DCV on the output transistor emitters?

Black probe on the negative speaker terminal.

Operate all pots and switches through their entire range while checking for audio. Do you ever hear anything at the output (noise/static, included)? You can temporarily jump the relays while troubleshooting.

Do you realize that this is one of the rare sigma amps from Kenwood? Not a huge deal but rare.
