got power on now
and I guess it works, since I have +15V from a 12V trafo
but no light from the LED 😱

tricky, because those caps must be some kind of small wonders, since they seem to hold voltage almost indefinately

drained the caps with a reisistor....and he LED flashes nicely on power up 😎

thought I wouldn't need a LED/res supply drain/bleeder, because of the LED in curcuit, but seems I have to mount one
will use for powr on indicator on front panel

BTW, that's a super-stylish trafo there. 🙂

Neat! You turn it into gold. Is that wood? At first I thought it may be something nifty and esoteric but now I realize it's just to hold the trafo in place? For the top part it looks like you drilled holes and cut it out with a band saw? I need to learn this sort of resourcefulness.
 
I am starting to cllect parts for the Kmultiplier I am going to use with the JG Paradise.

The Paradise uses shunt psu and draws 150mA on each positive and negative PSU, working at +-18V.

Due to availability I would like to use D45H11 power PNP instead of 2SA1930 for the positive kmultiplier.

For the negative one I have D44H11

Can I use those instead ?

That transistor is a whole lot slower and I don't know about its quasisat behavior. I would have ordered some to test out but they were out of stock when I last had the chance. I tried some other outputs but the C5171/A1930 seem to be important to the specs of this design.

For the other trannies I have the BC337/327.

I read your text describing the circuit but I am having difficulties following all parts purposes.

What is the purpose of the 820u cap ? Does it get multiplied as in a darlington C multiplier ?

hey, I suppose you mean the brown trafo 'chassis' ? ... I think it's Pertinax
its hard pressed paper/glue, and very strong
I just cut with an ordinary metal handsaw, and dress with a file
edges are difficult, and splinter easily...could be better
the rest of the box is scrapped digital 'something', modified a bit, and some plywood
it's really way too much work for what it is, but whatever, its great fun 😛
