I am putting a k-12 kit together. Its my first amp, and I want to put it in a nice 7 by 7 by 3 inch wooden box. Is the box too too small ?

To clarify, I meant does the size allow for enough space between the Power and Output transformer, and its the K-12 kit from tube depot. I searched and saw that there may be a problem, but found nothing definitive.

The way they are laid out on the website: k-12 needs a big space between mains and OP tx's.
By just turning the mains tx by 90 deg, you will be able to place them much closer; probably within an inch of each other without danger of interaction.
To be more specific, the windings of the mains tx should be at 90 deg to the windings of the op tx's.

What are you planning on putting in the box?
I'm builidng a k-12 right now and mine is going in an 8inx12in box. I'm mounting the PTX in the box and the OPTs outside.

I guess its for vanity sake that I want to hide the transformers. I have my tube sockets on the opposing side to the other components. Im planning on drilling four holes and leaving the everything else in the box. What are you planning.
Im sorry i see now that you already said what your planning. Is this your first? Im painfully inexperienced.
Ya, this is my first go at an amp. I'm learning as I'm going... it's a slow process, but I'm chatching on little by little. I built up the amp stock on the breadboard, now I'm moddding it and putting it in an enclosure. I've attached a picture so you can get an idea of what I'm doing. The power trannie will be mounted underneath, but I'll leave the output trannies on top. The sheet is 8x12. You could probably go smaller, but with the tighter space you need optimal planning and layout (I have little of both).
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
Your output transformers would be the type I wouldn't mind showing. I like the toggle switch. thats the one i had in mind. I've used one before on a chip amp I made.
the outputs are Hammond 1609s. Other people said they make a pretty good dropin upgrade. So, I'm giving them a shot. The kit was a gift, so it wasn't a big deal for me to drop $100 bucks on the upgrades.
I uploaded my photo to flickr, then cut and pasted the img url. Although... I'm not sure if I did it right for the forum. Everyone elses photos appear as thumbnails.
