The pricing probably includes "theraputic" quality of the amp/speaker/whatever. For example, BYOB amp ... you can stare at the blue LED for hours or days; "Oooo blue bright thingie!"

Hehe, I heard someone built a LM386 amp and installed it under dummy tubes. Tubes only light up. He entered a contest with it just for a heck of it. He wrote he fooled quite a few audiences. ...

I am not sure what's the difference between "esoteric" and "plain-foolin'."

hmm that piece of spruce (albeit somewhat smaller) seems a lot like one of my first gc projects.

language above was dutch. One time i heard an american describe it as "gargle gargle ugh spit baaaaaah oeh" 😉 no i wasn't drunk, that's just how its written. 🙂
try reading it out loud, you'll be amazed...
