I'm still playing with a pair of Fountek FR88Ex - another 3" driver. If this is typical of a small driver I woudl say that without any equalization, or a woofer, or a well designed enclosure, this size of driver will not produce enough bass to be anywhere near satisfying unless you treat them like 'large headphones' :D
