I thought it would be good for us all, in these times of economic stress, to take a moment to contemplate the bigger things in life.
In other words, must learn to type.
This is the one of the reasons we enjoy things what we do. Listening, relaxing, dreaming... and all those things we can do in a front of our self-made speakers in our living rooms...

RAART, have you looked at my Jordan with a ribbon MLTL thread on this forum? It is a slim MLTL with a Jordan JX92S and an Aurum Cantus G2si ribbon driver. Many builders have built this design and report excellent results.

On the Jordan USA website there are 40" and 35" enclosure height variants if you need a little shorter box.

Yes I looked at it and is nice however that tweeter doesn't go well with color scheme I like to have... This is the main reason I was looking for alternatives.
I wanted to contact you anyway in regards of XO but later on that...
The enclosure I want to have is "ejfud" Gary Eneberg designed TL or
this: Designs 35'' MLTL.
As you see they are speaking about you... 🙂

The face plates are easily removable/replacable. In your case, remove the face plate, sandthe blackoff and put it back on.
Bob, on his RT1, can even supply round or rectangular. BTW his version of the tweeter has an efficiency much moresuitableto the JX92
dave
Bob's RT1 looks really similar to Fountek NeoCD1.0... almost identical and even both of them have interchangeable faceplate.
By the way I didn't knew that you can remove faceplate on the ribbon tweeters. Probably this depends on manufacturer design.
Will look into it however I really like NeoX2.0; the color, shape etc. especially I don't have to do anything there... I like Hi-Vi RT1 II also while they are zen like designed and color is suitable too.
I am just wondering if anyone tried those drivers with JX92S.

Oh, Yes! I saw this I think 1 day after posting and was very surprised that they resumed production with old driver design. I assume that they changed something there and therefore just patience, patience...

It is a custom variation of the Aurum Cantus that Jim used. I found for my uses i prefered it to the IIsi that i have had a number of examples of.

RAART, the tweeter should be positioned at seated listening level (ear located typically 33-37" above the floor for most cases) for best results. This is especially a concern as a ribbon tweet has more limited vertical dispersion. Unless you have tall spikes or a built-up base, the 35" high enclosure may be a bit short. One of the taller boxes may be better choice.

Hello Jim,
I forget to mention but I will have a base with spikes (planing a granite block on spikes) therefore no problems with height... but thank you anyway.
IYO; What do you think which tweeter can replace one you used (should be rectangular shape and silver; preferably aluminum face plate)?
Regards, Rade
I think I will need to contact my neighbor though I am absent from my home city for more then 15 years... Hope he will remember me while he is recognized world expert in the ribbon technology. His work is way too expensive for me and his tweeters are the world most expensive but maybe I can get some "project" tweeters from him next year when I go home...

It's a new driver. ASFAIK only the cone is the same.
Incidentally, I think Mike at Jordan USA has some experience with alternative ribbon designs for the JX92S so may be worth sending him an email. It's probably significant that he has stuck with the Aurum Cantus on the website.
Sonics first, looks second.

You can get the best of both. Get an AC with square bezel, remove it and refinish it...

So far your recommendation is a my favorite, I just want to hear what my neighbor back home will recommend. For me he is the world best expert - The king of the ribbon tweeters. 😎

Dave, just theoretically while bezel is removable do you think that I can build my own from aluminum; will copy just bezel opening and angle from the original...
Regards, Rade.
