You are probably normal in that respect simply by luck of the draw. Nothing insulting about that, is there? Nothing intended either.
Just saying that not everyone in the world is not as equally affected by sighted listening as you seem to assume. That's not to say BT of some type is not worthwhile, but I don't believe reporting results to this bunch would get any more than a lots of expressions of doubt, and maybe a few insults. Why bother if people don't consider it proof if presented?
PMA did an ABX of his 100kHz rolloff (only after much practice and with an heroic effort of concentration), scoring 9/10. Are you convinced he heard a 100kHz rolloff? (and I'm not asking if there is phase shift in the audio band, we know there is some, are you convinced or not? )
No need to exaggerate. I previously wrote in another thread it may be a good price for what you get. Also said what you get is probably not the very best of what AK4499 can do.
If this skating happens at all, which is by no means sure, why could water not be seen as a cooling fluid absorbing part of the heat ?

I am reminded that a lot of the High-End truly is for a small portion of the population, only. There was a PBS documentary about a famous concert pianist and tuning the grand piano to his liking before the performance. The tuner and pianist listened and worked on the sound. Not the freq of notes. That is easy enough. But this pianist was used to a certain 'attack' to the key's sound. They went thru hell for weeks before and finally had to find another piano to try to get that attack characteristic he was used to and wanted. A whole hour devoted to piano tuning before the concert. It was extremely subtle to me.but very noticable to those who listen often to piano often and carefully. I had a piano in my living room up until I recently moved to Bangkok.
I am thinking.... would anyone in the audience know or even care as much? Could they tell the difference in piano sound? I dont think so. Not being a tuner nor master level performer who hears his instrument daily up close and personal.
Some audiophiles have similar ability thru years of careful listening to fine details. details others dont notice nor care about. What Jam or Mark or any number of others talk about isnt noticed by most. So, just ignore it and enjoy the performance anyway. no point in arguing over what some person heard or what the master piano player hears compared to you.

BTW Did I ever tell you guys I too have perfect pitch hearing. I dont know that it matters for audio. It might have come from lot of hearing a piano, tuning forks and constant piano tuning// daily before playing and singing opera practice in my house. I developed a memory for the correct freq. I can talk about it more later,. Got to get a taxi now. It is not magic. Just saying it takes years of intense listening to real music to hear subtle things in replay systems. It isnt for everyone to know.

Pants on fire. Have you ever operated on a bench an instrument able to reliable measure 0.0001% distortions? Are you sure you are not confusing an instrument with a free simulator?
My turn, who is "us"? Speak for yourself please, I could afford 3x that, if I would get a shred of evidence it is audible worth of. None so far, so I prefer to have fun and build my own ****, at least I can learn interesting stuff in the process.
Multiple reasons. I did one or two before. That was enough for me. There was the one where I rearranged the order of some opamp recordings, but didn't listen closely to the last one and compare it with all the others. Missed that two were the same, otherwise correct order. Figured someone else could work harder on it. I did as much work on it as I was willing to do. Didn't have the AHB2 power amp then and hearing the small differences using the old Bryston 4B was very hard, barely doable at all. After the opamp parts were revealed and scores tallied, PMA declared the tally data was random, but gave me some credit for opamp sorting. Looked to me like there was some trending in the data, enough to be interesting but not conclusive. Too few participants for one thing. PMA insisted it was totally random and shut down any further discussion of it. Okay, it was his thread to run as he wished. My choice was to continue participating in his 'tests' or not.
Yet, I thought about listening to his preamp files at some point, not especially as a participant. At the time the AK4499 was down for mods, so would have had to use the DAC-3. I was more interested in continuing work on AK.
Is it useful to respond to this kind of troll?

I don't know what they used, don't have one to look at or listen to. If you know it doesn't use that, why don't you post your pics showing your new dac sitting on your lab bench and what it does use for the various regulators.
Do you remember the two old guys, Statler & Waldorf in the muppet show ? He his the two all alone.

Only Mark knows the secrets to extracting maximum performance from the AK4499. His ears are golden and he's advised by the great guru Jam. No other could achieve such a result.
I believed him when he first announced his ignore claim over a year ago. Then when I saw him responding to me again, then announcing his ignore claim again, I realized it would be foolish to take his words seriously.
