When I’m critically listening I basically do sit motionless and also test off axis.

Yes, cable insulations sound different and these 'signature sounds' are recordable.Dan, Maybe you have picked up on something of significance here. If the white flex contains titanium dioxide as a colouring agent, then presumably the black flex will more than likely contains carbon. Both carbon and titanium dioxide have electromagnetic properties, and if so, then those properties should be measurable. If they have a subjective effect upon musical playback quality, those said properties will be objectively tunable as per situational requirement.
Some sounds 'play nice' together, others 'play bad' together and this is the basis of 'tuning' as it is practiced.
Titanium oxide is pretty uniform, carbon black is of variable provenance and carbon impurities are cause of bad sound in some black cables.

Why is visible part of spectrum the only frequency band of interest ?.......I will now feed the trolls by admitting that physical appearance and audio effect are both electromagnetic phenomena. The minor snag (for those of us from a science background) is the huge disparity in the relevant part of the frequency spectrum: audio roughly 20-20kHz, sight around 400-700THz, a ratio in the region of 10^10.

All materials, whatever they, have properties of one sort or another, and as such will have an effect. It is not up to me to say what the effects will be, that is the domain of the electronic engineer.
But I will point out what is the bleeding obvious.

MRI stands for 'Magnetic Resonance Imaging' a process of using magnetism and radio waves to create pictures of features inside the human body. My prologue for an experiment would be to put wires, cables, and interconnections inside an MRI scanner, apply musical electric currents, and see what happens. I have no idea what would happen, or what would or could be seen to happen. Epilogue unknown.
But it is about time that somebody does it, or some such experimentation like it, as this fruitless circular conversation is going nowhere other than to damage the participants.
