IIRC JB made a bunch hot chipping cars to get around the emissions stuff, motorhead misanthropy at its best.

No, it wasn't to get around emissions but to increase the twin turbo engines HP output.

Usually there is enough slack in the system to do that. Its when you go changing cams, changing ignition curve and fuel/air maps and adding headers etc that emissions go bad. The only thing I found that would allow a race engine - high HP - on the street was to use large and special construction while allowing high flow... catalytic converters.

Waly -- The CTS-V is a lot less weight yet starts out with 640 HP....bumping that another 100HP should be easy and stay clean. More than 750-800HP and the use of the big hi flow special cat. convert would have to be added.

Ok, give it a couple of days and I will post up some files.

Dan.

I forgot to mention, the idea was the data is identical before and after, but some hidden information is added. If the two files have different data the experiment is a waste of time. If the process is simple digital copying I would say there are pathologically broken components involved or other outside agencies.

There were a couple of experiments.
One was to copy wav files from HD folders to USB TD folders and back to HD over multiple generations ie
TD plugged directly into PC USB port.
HD-00 > TD-00
TD-00 > HD-00A

Insert custom USB m/f extender.
HD-00 > TD-01
TD-01 > HD-02
etc .... ..HD-10
HD-00 = Original files already on HD.
The folders were pre created and the folder number denotes the number of transfers of the contained files using custom extender.

The other experiment was to do the above with the outboard device being an Android phone using custom USB-A > USB Micro cable.

In both cases the 'untreated' transfers sounded same, and the 'treated' transfers got progressively 'better' but majority change is upon the first transfer.

By 'better' I mean cleaner, clearer, etc and more 'stable' sounding (and more fun), subtle but not subtle.
My work mate got to hear a bunch of different phone transfers on a junk car stereo on the way to work and indicated strong preference.

Binary file checker showed no file differences, the only difference I can think of would be file meta data.
Yes, it is simple copy and paste file copying and nothing is 'broken'.
It seems that there is some kind of deeper information embedded in the files that alters behaviour of downstream equipment, some form of 'quantum encryption' ?.
I have done analog domain experiments with different 33/45/78 formulations and they all sound different.....vinyl 'house sound' ?.

I have problems with HD sectors read errors right now (PC crashes when it feels like it 😡 ) so I need to solve this before redoing the experiment and posting.

Dan.
