Ticknpop, you are NOW in dangerous territory! Of course, you and I would agree that your upgrades make a difference, but the 'critics' here will consider it a waste of time and money. Of course, more modern amps have these sort of 'improvements', with my best stuff having all of them, in one way or another.

There s nothing modern in implementing a correct compensation, as well as abandoning the belief that high standing currents could be a good thing, this would allow to reduce distorsion by about 20dB, all with trivial modes, at least that s what the simulations display...

JC: I have some Phelps Insignia, award winning red wine (link) which they shipped me as a mandatory part of my Wine Club membership. It's won lots of awards and the American wine press showers it with praise, year after year. But Phelps's winery is located in St. Helena, California, 56.2 miles north of Berkeley, and therefore their wine is not made in Bordeaux or Burgundy. So some people refuse to try it or refuse to enjoy it even after trying it. I understand.

If you would like to try this American red wine, I'm pleased to send you a gift bottle. I'm in the South Bay, you're in the East Bay, it's a rapid shipment. PM me an address and off it goes.

If you believe that price is correlated with value in American red wine, here is a link with prices of Phelps Insignia: click me

Dead serious here. No snark, no sarcasm, no trolling.

I've had some superb Californian wines.

I'm not an expert like Brad, Scott or SY on these matters, but I know a good wine when I taste it.

Phelps Insignia can be excellent, though their high alcohol period was rather off-putting for my tastes. When Cabernets run 15%, the balance strikes me as a bit off, but those monsters get the critic kudos. IMO, the very best Cabernet-based wines in CA are the Ridge Monte Bellos, which are about as good as Cabernet gets irrespective of the country of origin.

Paul Draper helped us do a complete vertical of Monte Bello from 1966 through the early 2000's their wines from the late 60's and 70's were far better to me than some of the more oaked recent vintages.
