One of our sidelines is organising mainly board manufacture and assembly, less often full assembly to create a full finished product. Can be very stressful especially sourcing components etc. Procurement is another area that firms are starting to out-source as the cost of permanent purchasing staff etc. increases, or the size of the business does not justify having such departments within the company structure... Outsourcing is becoming increasingly popular.
Audio is an interesting field, you have basic components that have to be sold at the best price due to competition, the further up the scale you go the greater the price and profit margin per product but the less sold.

Triangle and tetrad protocols: Small sensory differences, resampling and consumer relevance

This, along with what else I've read surely says that a triangle (I'm right here admitting that I thought those required forced choice and prior knowledge that there were 2 identical samples) and tetrad protocols are much, much, MUCH more powerful than binary tests.

Sorry, not much time for today; your assertion is remarkable because just the opposite is true and the article you´ve linked to included again experimental confirmation for this well known fact.......

We are clearly talking past each other at this point. Did I not state that triangle/tetrad protocols enjoy greater statistical power? That's exactly what comes out of the abstract and makes solid statistical/experimental sense. I admitted I didn't know the official name, but I've done enough other testing where you need positive and negative controls.

Both are infinitely better than a simple XY test.

Anyhow, it's bad enough getting people to do remotely robust testing and we're arguing even more specific protocols.

off-topic, or maybe on-topic, but probably meta-topic....

for some reason, this post (from elsewhere) made me think of this thread....

Light humor?

Scott,
Model # HCA1200. Now that I'm thinking about it I wonder if it was just the output Zobel that fried? Perhaps I should have taken a look at it before I put it away and never looked at it again. I didn't have a transistor tester so never checked any of the output trannies. I would assume that John would have the schematic or could get his hands on same.
