Bybee is doing all right - the staggering amount of publicity this website constantly provides him would have cost a pretty penny or two otherwise - he's laughing all the way to the proverbial...
You guys have it all wrong. I am Jack Bybee's friend and like any friend or close colleague, I will stick up for him, if I can. It is nothing more than that. Jack would rather I not discuss his products here, he has told me that himself, numerous times. But he puts up with my dogged defense of his efforts, better than most here who think ill of my efforts to explain his stuff the best I can.
He is about 85 years old, effectively rich, and just does Bybee stuff to keep busy. He has started several spin-off companies as well, just to have something to do. It would be best to ignore him and his products, but I doubt that I can convince you of that. I find him interesting, more interesting than most people in this business, and that is the way it will stay.

No that is not really true. Some amateurs love to disprove things, since it makes them feel important, and they lose nothing. Professionals often would fear to lose their credibility if they make an erroneous test, overlooking something obvious.
I deeply resent the hint that you 'amateurs' are more 'honest' that us 'professionals'.
Credibility
Bybee's
🙄
Again you insult us with your comments, I am an honest person and take umbrage at being told I am not. I am also a professional like many others here in my field within electronic design and have far more integrity than I see in a lot of high end audio.
You support of these devices and other way out audiophile beliefs does not point to integrity....

No, but Joshua was initially criticizing the tests put up by Marce. The test that I put up is also 'incomplete', but it has elements of credibility. For example the test equipment, the BMI 4800 is listed by me. Look it up, then decide if what it measures might be useful. I told you that the test was done at AMES Research, is that not professional enough for you?
All that is necessary is that someone else makes the same measurement with equivalently good test equipment, not some amateur add on to your computer, and independently verify what they found. If you do not wish to do this, OK, but leave me alone about the Bybee devices, and whether they were measured to do something or not. Adding a low value resistor is not going to get rid of the FUZZ or IM on the distortion waveform.
Its getting worse...patronising now.
audiophile beliefs
But it's all done in the best possible taste.

Absolutely!
Iko, you're the moderator, you've got the power - go ahead and delete them!
A lot of people will thank you for doing so. Also, it will lower the number of personal attacks significantly.
Yes JC has been quite naughty with his comments😉
No, you got it backwards.Yes JC has been quite naughty with his comments😉
Part of the role of a true friend is to tell people things they might not wish to hear. It is not part of the role to stick up for a friend when you believe him to be in the wrong on a matter of fact. So are you sticking up for him because he is your friend, or because you sincerely believe he is right?john curl said:I am Jack Bybee's friend and like any friend or close colleague, I will stick up for him, if I can.
There have been far too many personal attacks on here, mainly by jc against us but also by some Bybee fanboys. A Monty Python fan stirring the pot has made things worse. I still have an open mind on whether Bybee believes his own marketing.
No, you got it backwards.
I would suggest you read the comments posted with an open mind instead of sucking up to JC, including the recent insults regarding professionalism. Though when I wrote my post I did expect this reply.
ps. I still don't believe that the Bybee's have a chance in H..l of working as stated in their literature.
The most advanced superconducting physicists in the world (down the hall) agree that the devices have nothing to do with superconductivity.
Some of the most advanced nanotechnology scientists in the world (about 100 meters away) agree that quantum nanotube zero-resistance has nothing to do with the devices actual operation.
As a ground loop modification, I can see how insertion of a resistor can change the neutral to ground voltage, but since I know NEC, I cannot recommend that use as it violates code.

Increasing R - related voltage drop and masking inductive drop (or RLC damping) would not help either. The cure is proper wiring and grounding scheme.

Could we solve the 'mystery' by digging up Richard Feynman and asking him what help Jack Bybee offered him?

Funny you should mention Feynman. Was going to suggest to JN that all those pikers where he works should consult with Bybee to bring themselves up to speed. 😀
Bybee... Bybee... Oh! You mean the janitor? -- Feynman's ghost

Yes, Jack was a consultant to Richard Feynman many years ago on Superconductivity. He was loaned out by Hughes, where Jack actually was employed at the time.
Sounds good to me , less say By bee bye and get back to electronics....
I agree, since someone else wants those Bybee's they can have them. I understand now any measurements will simply fuel the fire and be dismissed anyway.
JN,
Thank you for that confirmation by your colleges. 😎
As for defending a friend I agree that at times we need to tell them when we think they are wrong and why. I was friends for awhile the last few years of his life of a very interesting gentleman named Max Gottschalk. He was a friend of Mr. Brown, of Burr-Brown fame and was involved with the first active opamp signal generator that Burr-Brown produced, he left me the original unit, it is in my storage and I hope that it still works. Anyway, Max used to like to give me ideas and talk about electronics, my friend was a friend of his since childhood and was his caretaker until death. My friend would admonish me not to get him mad, not to disagree with him, but I just couldn't do that when I thought he was wrong about something. We could really get into it when that happened, my friend would look at me in shock, but Max loved it, not to many people ever had the balls to stand up to him in life, that actually made him like me even more, I made him think. I have a funny stories he told me about his encounter with Howard Hughes before he lost it, back in his time, WWII, but will keep that story for another time!

I am thinking all that can be said has been and it's time to move on. I respectfully request that no further discussion of the Bybee device takes place in this thread.
Thank you. Please don't cause me to moderate this thread.
Marce, your song has been returned to you by PM.
