Jitter
I'm confused. Most of what I have read suggests delta sigma architectures are less sensitive to jitter. I also think that discussing jitter as a single number is very misleading. Can you point to the references so I can better understand why a multibit DAC would be less sensitive?

I also think that discussing jitter as a single number is very misleading
as do I, I suppose its similar to distortion and impedance in that regard, different at different frequencies and composed of several elements, but often reduced to a single headline spec.

Interesting hypothesis/observations on why cables sound different - but especially interesting is the discussion around SSL's VCA's and how they solved the issue.
Some predictable reactions.
