I use IC's in MY latest phono design. We should be up-to-date.

I should have said: One of my latest phono preamps has IC's through-out. Another has both discretes and IC's.

It is a nice set of designs, and reasonably easy to build. But a schematic even with a pc layout is not a complete set of instructions. That will result in a wide variation of build qualities. However it will sound wonderful to the builder. So it really is not useful to compare it to a fully complete unit. However your post will have it's intended effect to energize John.

I have stayed out of the speaker history debate as so much of the technical details from every contributor are just wrong.

Thanks, but that is not the actual speed the motor runs at. That is the theoretical speed.
