The triple H in southern Asia, hot, humid and hazy, is hazardous to your mental performance.
Just look at my posts in this forum recently, right, Scott? =)
Whatever you say, peace and go your own way.
I dont have income from Thailand so no income tax for me to pay there.

That's OK others pay for the military junta.
ElveeOK for carbon mics, and condensers when operated purely in voltage mode, but dynamics react to dP/dt, not P. You cannot make a barometer out of a dynamic mic (unless it has a supraconductive coil, of course)
Yes and I admit it is more complicated than that.
The coil can register only dp/dt. But the diaphragm of the mic depending if it is closed or open back design will function as pressure sensitive or pressure gradient (i.e. velocity) sensing device respectively.
All diaphragms respond to delta p/delta t. Closed back design diaphragms work against a fixed back pressure, so delta p is of single polarity.
Open back design diaphragms work acc to the balance of front and back varying pressures, thus delta p is of a changing polarity.
Great stuff George.
You know where to look for B&K stuff Scott, yes? Also read Alan Blumlein’s patents:
GB 394325 (1931)
US 2062275 (1936)
I would think impulse response only makes sense in the noted case, what thinks you?
Most probably yes. The only way to confirm it, is by experimentation (monitor the outputs of a p & u mic assy)

I'm looking for a simple dynamic mike in my junk collection that I can compare to the condenser mikes. They just are not common any more. Lots of interesting questions but little time to devote to them.
More oldies but goody transistors -- noise:
The 2N4400 series --
Beta = 170-175 @ 2.5 and 5.0mA:
Noise for a 2N4401 at 1mA 15V and 3mA 15V - 10Hz to 100KHz.
1.5nv/.9/.65/.65/.8nV
4.5nV/1.3/.6/.6/1.3nV

don't care for long time owners.

Good thing Mr Marsh is not into yachts.
Hi! we might become neighbors 🙂 for part of the year. Where are you exactly?
=)
business in Indonesia

Sorry for being over-investigative, I'm just looking around to see what I can find.

Good timing.... i just agreed to go in as 1/3 partner is a sailing boat.
[but I think I'll get sea sick]

I wonder how much it cost for the CEO of "Victoria's Secret" to get his >300T yacht classed as a pleasure boat by act of congress. 😱

It took the congress committee to road test models in VS lingerie, to get "the feel" of it all. 😀
And they say politicians are lazy slobs, and yet, there they are, striving for the benefit of the community, testing to protect the public from potentially dangerous Chinese fabrics. 😀
Hi,
We don't want no lead in their undies now, do we ? 😱
Cheers, 😉

Well, for some of them, that's the only way to have any substance. 😀
