There are 200uF coupling capacitors used between the input + binding post and the output + binding post. So in a sense, yes it will form a hi-pass filter with your speaker. However, the cutoff frequency will depend on what the speaker impedance is per given frequency.

If I understand correctly, the cross-over works for the high level outputs only if a high level input is connected, no? So if I plug in the RCA input the high level output does not work or it does not output with a high pass cross-over?
The high level outputs are driven directly by the high level inputs (but passes through a coupling cap). The internal amplifier for the subwoofer does not power the high level outputs. Think of the high level inputs and outputs as a pass through that the subwoofer amp is able to tap an input signal off of.
