I've been here for 20 years. Yikes!

Well, it's gotta be around 20 WEEKS for me 🙂, and after inspiration from here (as well as some youtube exploration) I'm on yet another class AB DIY, as well as my very first Class D (modules though, I must admit) built in to the original wooden box that my Linn Ekos tonearm came in back in the 1990's.
Congrats to all those receiving long service awards here 👍

21 years, 3 months roughly. Enjoyed it here. Still do. Older and wiser. No bickering for me anymore. Mostly buying stuff on Marketplace and showing stuff I built. And a question here or there. Bought enough stuff to get keep me busy when retirement comes (13 years time)(If I actually get there)🤞
Thanks diyAudio and the members. Many who have departed made a big impact...Old school people who really knew their stuff. Helping people like me who have no electronics background.

Can't remember (because it's been so long ago) why or how I became aware of diyaudio. A friend of mine introduced me to Amateur Audio/Speaker builder magazine which in turn led to building my first Pass amp, the A20. This changed what I thought was good sounding audio. This forum has been a wealth of information from a group of very talented and generous people.

I originally joined in 2001 or 2002 under a different username, but changed over to this one in 2003, so that's the date on record for me. I know it's frowned upon to change usernames like that, but hopefully I can be forgiven since it happened two decades ago...

Just think of all the grey hair (or no hair) have come…

, but what a legacy for the future
They would offer smugness at our attempts. Things change and what's left behind, while sometimes well regarded is often simply dismissed as that's what they did in the 'old days'

I am happy to be a part of the old days. I hope all of you are too. Without us, there would be no future.
