Sure, people come first but DIY audio doesn't exclude all other activities.
Why should DIY audio be less attractive or fulfilling than reading or any other 'entertainment'.
To think of something, an idea, visualise it, work out the funtionality and then turn that idea into something tangible is an extremely rewarding and as far a I know uniquely human pursuit🙂

I didn't say it is less fulfilling. I said it is financially foolish to diy.
DIY keeps me out of the pub...
..well it keeps me busy anyway...and although I started out 'goal' oriented I am now excited by all the learning I am doing.

That depends.
You can make a GC amp with a fraction of the cost of a Gaincard.
But you can't make yourself an ultra-cheap DVD.
They are selling them for 50 Euros.

If you DIY, just do what it's worth to do: HIGH-END.😉
