Iron Pumpkin(s) and other smaller vegetable animals

Not even close. Best I could do was some 470uF/35V Silmic II…of course they have the wrong footprint for the boards 😒

I was thinking of bending the legs to make them fit.

I’m spinning wheels.

I found some 10 Ohm Thermistors…only rated @2A. 🤷‍♂️

Duelund… I didn’t have MZM as a birds person and a lover of 500 hours cap burn-in time :rofl:
stare at goats for a day more, and I'll collect some brain and post bunch-o-files to address all your questions

as I wrote to IAIMH, considering that I'm sending Duelund Silver Foil caps for all signal carrying caps positions, normally that I opted to save some greenies, on few resistors and elcos

:devily:

Catch 22 is ......... once ( hopefully sooner than later) when you finish Iron Pumpkin and actually hear it, you will cry realizing how much time you wasted, living IronPumpkinless

^ I'm still looking for a spot to mount the 100uF motor-runs... :rofl: :joker:

I have no idea why I struggle with chassis layout so much... just an early effort to eyeball where things may wind up with the transformers and how to route wiring for mains/primaries and secondaries. Ignore twisting tightness / tidiness etc. :joker:

Hmmmm…and you ordered 350mm deep case right? I’m a little concerned about the 280 case I plan to use.

The shielding covers take up a lot more room than just the 10VA transformers.

I’m sure you’ve seen the pics of all ZM’s builds. Worth more than 1000 words.

Primary wires are always under the perforated base plate in his builds. I think you said you forgot to order one? I have an extra on hand, but it’s for a 280 case.

Still, I think your wiring will be cleaner. All your secondary pads are in that front corner and carry power through traces on the big board…no? I’ll have to run my own secondary wiring across the case for the other channel.

if/as they shielded properly, all 3 Donuts can be stack on side panel, speaking of 280 deep

and base plate - I believe there is no bigger than one declared for both 280 and 350 deep ..... maybe not ideal to use all space in 350, but that's what you have it to choose from :clown:

note - I'm elevating base plate by some 7 to 10mm, simply drilling new sets of 3.2mm holes at sides of it

more/proper clearance for mains wires underneath

I thought I saw the same base plate for 280/350 cases.

Strangely mine have a label noting 260 on them. They are about 10.25” X 16.375”.

@IAIMH

If you have a problem getting your hands on a base plate because Modushop is on holiday let me know. I can probably figure a way to send you one and then we can have them ship me one when they are back.

@chromenuts and @Zen Mod

My chassis is the 350 deep chassis. I like space. 🙂

I have two baseplates on the way. CN - Thanks so much for the offer. Mine should be here early next week. @Gianluca is incredible.

Yes, there are two sizes. I originally ordered the smaller of the two, and then I changed to the bigger ones. I wasn't sure whether I was going to mount the donuts on the side and/or the bottom. I'm leaning toward all on the side. Front 15, 15, 12, back. If that doesn't look clean for wiring, then I'll move the 15 for the left channel onto the baseplate.

CN - yes, the covers do add a bit of space, but I really like using them. ZM's builds have definitely provided a lot of inspiration.

I will definitely raise up the baseplate and route mains under the baseplate and to the far right side. Secondaries should be quite short, so I'm not sure if I'll route those under or not. I may route them under just b/c it looks tidy. I'm still fiddling with a few tiny things, but it should all work out well.

Edited to add the links below to the two baseplates -

Bigger Perforated Plate

Smaller Perforated Plate

I am not going to add much more to what Patrick has already pointed out. A couple of months ago one of our resellers suggested to start producing a deeper baseplate for the 350mm deep chassis which would cover more space compared to the previous one (415 x 260 VS 415 x 320) so in the end you only have about 30mm of non-covered space

Meh…it’s only a 1999 Boxster…albeit with 19K original miles (good and bad).

Original owner was millionaire that also owns 4 cam Carreras (plural)…never drove it…gave it to son (who also owns 4 cam)…he did fancy paint job and eventually sold it to me through mechanic buddy for peanuts. Right place at right time.
