Is that a bad thing? As I recall these sounded rather dark.
That will depend on usage/implementation.
Depends on your taste
As I understand they have high input capacitance vs higher voltage versions and they are audibly rolled off. I rather my amp reproduced all freq and if I decide the high freq are too much I may employ other means to attenuate them.
I used them in the aleph X back in the day and I experienced that first hand.
Hello Folks,
Does anybody know about a book, site, something where the component's lifecycle is documented?
I'm trying to find what was the lifecycle of the original IRFP044 and IRFP150 from International Rectifier, I asked them but nah, see what they said:
"We are sorry, we do not guarantee or specify a lifetime for any of our parts. The continued availability of the part is dependent, for instance, on market demand and so on."
Thanks in Advance!

What exactly are you wanting to know? When the part was introduced? Or do you want to know why/when parts are declared end-of-life?

Ideally I want to know when were they stopped being produced so in their terms "Last Order Date".
