Jack, head down to The Container Store and have a look at their clear plastic shoe boxes. They have latching lids and are molded to stack perfectly. Best of all TCS sells them twelve at a time, in an easy to transport cardboard box.

I still have some RS proto-boards and 9V battery holders I bought before they went tapioca. Probably a roll or two of their speaker-wire (which one Stereophile contributor told me was actually pretty good!)
