There are no piano black/white cabinets at the moment.

The price of one pair cabinet and shipping to the Netherlands is US$155.

For bigger speakers, I recommend CHR-70.3 bookshelf in Wide Classic Golden Ratio dCHR-Ken70 plan which is a 10 Liter vented box.

A new dMark-Ken6.2 cabinets for Alpair 6P or 6M have been built. The material of all panels is 15mm meranti plywood with cherrywood veneer.

The size of mMar-Ken6.2 cabinet is as same as mCHR-Ken70.3, but the vent slots are different.

These are the new Pensil R70.3 cabinets. All panels are Finnish birch plywood in 18 mm thickness. It is natural color I like. This is the first CHR-70 floorstanding cabinets we build. Interesting to listen Pensil CHR-70.3.

Pensil 10.2 are the second speakers the user has. The first speakers are Bastanis Atlas open baffles.

I'm aware it's a 15 ohm version, but the raw, unfinished back doesn't look quite right to my eyes. Shouldn't it be painted in black?

Anyway, LS3/5As in fine conditions are far from affordable these days, would like to give them a try but they're too expensive and there are too many "modified" ones out there.

Don't go for gold tag, as shown in picture. Plus it is first 500 pair and Roger 3/5a only manufactured 50,000 pair more or less. Black tag, silver tag, white belly, or 11ohm label as 15 ohm (around 3x,xxx serial no) should be affordable. This pair in the picture is indeed non modified because some early ls3/5a left it unpaint. I haven't have a chance to listen to such old one but heard Gold tag at 1,xxx serial no. For me, I still prefer 11 ohm which built during 80's. Easlier to find a mint condition, no mode and sound much balance, and not too expensive.

The cost aside, I'm also worried about the conditions of the drivers and crossover. I've heard that the crossover is prone to burning in early productions and I've heard people saying that the B110a woofer's surround may come off (it doesn't rot, but it just got loose).
Ever heard of these problems? Seriously, I'm more interested in DIYing a modern version with some more updated drivers, say SEAS or Audax drivers. I've heard there are some models that work okay as a replacement for B110a, especially the XP cone SEAS.

Frankly a group of us started to collect 3/5a years ago. Tell you it cost us dearly. In between I also helped my friend to bid from ebay, which most of them being modified, tweeter replaced, x over modification. Luckily we have a guru, Joseph Ki, who guided us most of the time.

Among all the 3/5a we bought, only 1 of my driver spoilt but still manage to repair in West Malaysia. We have not seen the rubber come off, or loose. 3/5a driver and tweeter is very long lasting unless you over drive it, or way to loud that it can't handle. 11ohm, 15ohm, or new 8ohm tapping make a huge difference here. That is why vintage amp like Leak, Quad serving 16 ohm, even Mcintosch at 32 ohm are part of 3/5a collection (you should know valve amp hardly burn your speaker as part of it).

I hope I can own one more pair in future but the price just don't justify itself.
