Another use for the Teleporter will be to connect to a digital crossover or equaliser.
I use a couple of DEQX units connected to the XONAR card configured as quadrophonic and then feed their digital output into Buffalo DACs that, in turn, feed each individual speaker driver (the DEQX allows discrete calibration of each individual driver as well as being a crossover and room eq).
Tapping into the I2S made an astounding difference. The Buffalo DAC in concert with the digital processing capabilities of the DEQX is simply astounding. Unfortunately, running I2S any real distance is extremely problematic - particularly at higher bitrates. Hopefully, the Teleporter is the answer to my prayers
Sounds like it's just what the doctor ordered...
What would be the maximum I2S cable length you can use between Metronome and B2/3 ?
Absolutely. This is make it practical to use PCM(I2S or otherwise) and DSD from separate components.
I have successfully tested up to 100ft.
What would be the maximum I2S cable length you can use between Metronome and B2/3,
Without using the teleporter?
In the Buffalo integration guide it states:
Keep I2S cables as short as possible, for high resolution sound one should keep them at least below
4” (10cm) and of equal length.
What would be the maximum I2S cable length you can use between Metronome and B2/3,
Without using the teleporter?
There are no absolutes. It depends heavily on the environment (EMI, RFI, wiring, proximity to power lines, etc). Shorter is better. They can longer until they stop working or become polluted with noise.
Thanks everyone for your answer, look's like I'll be needing 4 of those" Scotty beam me up" devices.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for the update. Hope the family is all good!
USB Module to be released before or after Bit Teleporter?
Ciao!

I wait your family is good.
I'm confused, the web page says $45 for one? and $90 for a pair.
When I go to the checkoout it shows $45 for a pair?
Probably a momentary error. It is $90 per pair.
