Hey RDF,

I have never been to that Forum. I have been warned by the moderators about the looney quotient there.

Hi poobah! I don't spend a ton of time lurking there, it's usually nowhere as technically focused as this forum. If what you're told is true the link is an exception to the looney rule, the post was meant as a joke. However it was found looking for the mercury cables I know I've seen elsewhere, and if you tunnel down the responses there's a dead link to a mad Aussie who once advertised (sold?) mercury-filled interconnects. Midrange to die for I hear. :dead:

What????

You get the secretaries with big capacitors and 3 hour golf lunch, while I do the glass to metal interface work???

C'mon now...

I prefer parallel secretaries beacuse they offer less resistance. As far as capacitors go, there are diminishing returns after a certain size and can indeed become a hinderance, especially if you have difficulty getting them into a case.

Did you say 3 hour business meetings? Ok...you can be head of the metal - glass engineering division....with your own secretary....capacity, resistance, and inductance (reluctance?) of your choice.

Huh Poobah ...who's busted now?

Look Guys,

If anyone can come up with a coherent line... I am all about it.

And we might find out.... IF it's true... AND why? Until the golden ear crowd.... and the non-engineers... are willing to abide by proper controllled testing (and they won't or at least haven't)... they remain squeeky wheels, irritants and obstacles (and victims). In lieu of that, we will proceed using science (now, who are the closed minded)... we will further, or end the debate.

If you care to check my record in this debacle, you will see that my biggest stance has been that we not teach newbies unproven BS... and there I remain firm.

And I will repeat for the third time (streamlined), "without the cold methods of science many of you would have NO music, NO amplifiers, and NO speakers to test your cables on..."

Ya'll want to get in front of the wagon and pull, that's cool, sit in the wagon and b1tch, that's easy.

You want the cable guys to accept science and logical testing ???

I've always liked dreamers.

You want me to bring science here (from another thread), you watch'em twist it with psuedo science i.e, "skin effect is a well recognised phenomenon and it exists to some degree at all frequencies, this new cable understands this real phenomenon and with the revolutionary counter skin-effect braid re-gains the music you paid for....etc etc."

I think I'll leave my science in the other threads.

Cheers, have an enjoyable and safe christmas.

Hi Poobah,
I'm thinking your water cables may have a bright marketing future! You can market special "voice paks©" (dye) to correct for room / components. Imagine the IC business! Then market increasing purities of water - it's the next big thing!

Do I get a corner office, reasonable sized caps are okay with me.:devilr:

Just think, you said:
I will never post on a cable thread again.

Can't trust you now! You're a trouble maker! 😀

Actually SY,

As I thought about it more I'd like to use a conductive liquid. Cables would consist of a clear hose, filled with the jus, and appropriate electrodes at each end. The idea behind the liquid is; a. about transparency and fluid sound, b. the opportunity for follow on sales to replace the fluid once it is worn out.

I would screw up the marketing though... there would be all kinds of experts with aftermarket (non-factory approved) holophonic fluid, and better magazine reviews, for the Poobah cable.

:xeye:

I recall someone using Mercury.

Hi,
If you think you pay a lot for whiskey, you should check out our prices for a change! The average 26 oz bottle is $22.00 CDN, not for the really good stuff.

Oh, I guess that is really cheap in USD. -Sorry :clown:

Funny trade laws,

When ever my relatives would visit Washington from BC, they would take home a trunk full of toilet paper. And these folks weren't remotely tight on money...

I say the Irish and the Scots for Scotch and Malts

Americans for Sour Mash

Canadians hands down for Whiskey... ya gotta keep warm somehow... might as well be smooth as glass.

What do Canadians regard as a premier Whiskey?

BTW... shaping up into a nice 70 deg F here day in Phoenix! Christmas eve on the back porch!

Hi poobah,
I haven't a clue. I hate Crown Royal, got sick once on Candian Club (can't even smell it now:ill: ).

I drink Perlova or Stolichnaya from our Russian or Ukranian friends. Mixes well with Kahlua or straight up. Dark rums (or spiced) are good.

70°F Nice. I can trade you some snow, slush and ice. Interested? If nothing else, our drinks are cold. :hohoho:
