May I, most humbly, introduce you to to my most important tool for the last couple of years......😉

The clock is ticking.. BAF tomorrow!
We have a great build, but have put off the heaters wires to Jack's board because I couldn't figure out where to connct.

We now have a tube pin diagram, but Jan Didden is staying with me and is stressed that there seem to be no pads.
I figure just connect to the socket pins? What are those ground holes in the center of the big socket all about?
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellp! Its noon already!!

Also, is there a diagram of the PCB somewhere in the thread?

Well, it all lights up in the right order so there's nothing catastrophically wrong I guess. Just ran heater wires from the tube socket pins.
That's a funny thing for a SS guy. I be trying to get heat OUT of the device, not INTO it.
Ohh well. Hope there's sound coming out. We'll test that next.

@SY: anode voltage of the input tube seems low, 145V. That OK?

I just sent some stuff to Jan -- if you recall (read the prospectus carefully before you invest) SY bypassed the heaters of the 6SN7 with some ceramic discs. These can be placed on the underside of the board. The heaters have to be directly wired since placing them on the board would have required another layer, at least.

I used ceramic tube sockets from PartsExpress -- had you guys forewarned me, I could have sent you an assembled board.

No worry, we're listening to the unit as I type.
Doesn't sound too bad actually (for a tube thing 😀 ).
I had two Cinemag wires flipped initially so one channel was dead, then with the help of Jacks drawing realised that the Cinemag input pads were mirrored between channels.
A little bit too much gain for Mark's F4's though.
Well, that's the first time I actually finish a BAF amp BEFORE midnight 😉

Well all I can say is Thank You.

I wired up the power supply myself on perfboard- boy, if you wanna learn,
use perfboard!

So its working, thanks to Jan Didden who's staying at my place for the BAF and AES, wiring up the boards and transformers while I worked on the chassis backplate.

Jack's board worked beautifully, I populated and wired it, and you are right SY, matching resistors is easy even with just a few. No humm no buzz, no extra sweetener- just a shot of music straight to the heart.

Thank you all.. now I'm going to take it to Burning Amp

It only had too much gain when I spun the dial to "high!" - and it was crazy loud.
