I‘m wasting my time in one of the most beautiful places in Europe

And then complain we put mayonnaise on fries 😉

I don't.... if you mix sriracha with good mayo, it goes on everything - except loco moco. On that one, I just put the sriracha straight on.

Hmm... I sure hope they got some sriracha at the store today... I buy it by the gallon.

BTW. have you tried putting a little bit of mayo, chili beef (no beans), shredded cheese, sour cream and sriracha on top of the fries? Serve the corn chips with guacamole on the side. Cold beer, of course.

Close but worse. Here, you asked for it 🙂

I had an Italian gf years ago - around Garda in the north. Also been to Rome on work;
  • octopus and lemon. Seriously good and not fried.
  • sandwich means bread in the oven loaded with cheese and meat.. in the UK a sandwich is cold and and well.. sad.
  • Italian red wine I don't normally like (too acidic) but with Italian food in the regions it's superb!

nothing worse than listening to rich folk talk about their travels. I'm staying put on the beautiful central coast. Great food here too!

The entire California Central Coast, from Salinas down to Santa Barbara has awesome food and wines.

Our current fav is Industrial Eats in Buellton, off the 101.

Then you got Big Bubbah's Bad To The Bone BBQ in Paso Robles.

I like the chipotle in escabeche.

Half a teaspoon added to soups kicks it up a little notch.... and doesn't ring my wife's taste buds.

I also use it when I make Chili Con Carne. One chipotle and a teaspoon of escabeche sauce. The smokiness is awesome.

It's like using a few drops of Thai fish sauce in a beef stew... Oddly it brings out the flavor of the beed.

Yes, we've been using Tapatio ( Uncle of the Tapas? ) for years. have not seen Melinda's chipotle. Tabasco's chipotle sauce is also quite good.

My daughter has some Korean chili sauces that will peel your toenails... after destroying most of your taste buds on the way down from your mouth! Hotter than anything Thai I've ever had.

Mordikai, sambal oelek is only ground chilly peppers and some salt (which already is good). Did you try “baked” or just different variants or sambalans as they are called? Like sambal djahe, sambal brandal or sambal badjak?

I never forget that a friend passed out after eating black fermented sambal. Not much fun when it happened though as we thought he had a heart attack.
