I'm gona crazy cause of hum

Hello

Takes over month to get some done.

Sadly but true, I retested my amplifier again and I wired my amplifier like Andypairo explains in post #32.
From input RCA's I connect wires directly to center piece of main capacitors and speaker output minus is also taken from there. Input shield is connected only from amplifier board end.
This does not help. Brum is still hearable.

I try also connect main ground to center piece of main capacitors but it doesn't help anything.
I also disconnect those "additional" capacitor "banks" from amplifier boards and using only main capacitors but it doesn't help.🙁

Well... this project seems going to end because this have been almost year spreaded out in my house 🙂

Maybe I build it to other case because this case was too tight and heatsinks was too small.
And then I will do all wirings and stuff like they should be done in high end way, I hope you understand.😀

Now I must get satisfied with my Yamaha 595 amplifier. DOUH! 😛

I wished that I post these face plates not until I get this amplifier really work, but I change my mind.

What a pity that this face plate is useless. Maybe I heat my sauna stove with that 🙂

What I have done wrong?

I have CD -player at other end of RCA, both channels connected.
If I connect only one input RCA to amplifier... let say left channel, and speaker is connected to left channel output, it is totally silent. :checked:
But if I connect speaker to right channel, then noise appears. It is more radio noise than hum or buzz.
I tested this also with right channel... an it is silent too. :checked:

But if I connect both input RCA's to amplifier, quite loud buzz appears on both channels.

Hi,

You said that hum is more like radio noise, so have you measured what kind of buzz is it? I has same kind of problems some time ago, and hum was 100Hz (Exatly only small spikes every 10ms) and so i was 100% sure that hum comes from ground loop.

My text was little confusing.:dunno:

But main problem is that when I connect both inputs to amplifer then buzzing appears. There is no buzz or hum when only one channel input is connected and speaker is connected to same channel. And I know this is some kind ground loop, but where?

But when speaker is connected to other channel than input then noise is more radio noise or something than buzz or hum. Maybe this is caused by that ground loop too,.... I don't know.😱

Its quite frustrating because those FET's are quite uncommon and hard to get and I have waste quite much time with this project too.
And that face plate is very neat too.
