This is very good design. That's funny, cuz I already had a 3inch TB modeled:
Open baff or the sealed
Which one the o/ b or the sealed are you talking about

It's prob silly to try an open baffle of this small size, as the sub would need to come in too high in frequency, making its location audible. And a sealed pipe 210mm tall is too short to sit on the typical desk and have acoustic center at ear level. And for both, there's that mystery mounting/adapting ring to make and fit nicely to the pipe. But I went through a PVC fittings design phase years ago, so you might as well get it out of your system as well...?
The totally uninhibited by practicality artistic phase is the most 'exciting' part of making stuff. And when neat hollow shapes fall in your lap, you have to explore (at least mentally, or virtually as I often do in 3D CAD) the extremes of possibilities! Ultimately, after all the fun and learning from making a mess in the shop, you have to ask yourself if the final product is a 'keeper' from both the performance and the aesthetic POV.
i will take pics of my fish bowl speakers, they look funky
cool 😀 Ill post mine after the weekend, when i get time off.
To be accurate, I have 'bought online to collect in store' at a home furnishing place in the UK, and I wont get to measure the aperture diameter and get hands on the vase until then.
In the pic it is classic fishbowl 2/3rds sphere shape, flat cut top, 15cm diameter maybe 8-10mm thick. Once ive measured them ill post sizes etc.
For those who are interested I was aiming for a volume of around 0.8 litres, for TB W3 1285SG.

the flesh highlighted some parts, which at normal light do not stand out that much

We onestly expect a brief description of the sound, not only 'they're spherical'
🙄
If not, the craft passes as 'standard', and immediately forgotten
