How to fix these?

I had another pair exactly like that Sonys they also outperformed the insignia for bass . But they sounded good when I ran them with each other..insignia are hooked up correctly just have no low bass . Or mid bass under 80hz

I turned the bass up +10 on the receiver . It’s just by basement system no sub output on this stereo amp

Nope still not much bass at all. They do sound pretty good though. I’m not saying they are junk.
I turned treble down all the way they definitely produce bass . Just I can’t hear it sitting 10 feet away . It’s in the basement. Up close I hear it.
They get good reviews but I don’t have a sub I can attach to this amp. Insignia ns str514

it can run two pairs of speakers.

As Cal has said, reversing the +/- (red/black) connections on ONE of the speakers should make a "striking difference" to the level of the bass output.

However, I notice that a customer review of the Insignia NS-SP213 bookshelf speakers mentions the lack of bass output:

"I bought these speakers and hooked it up to a matching Insignia receiver. The sound quality is great and more than enough for a room. However, the speakers could use some more bass. A subwoofer needs to be added if you want more bass. Otherwise, sound quality is good for the price."

yep agreed!

I may just run them with the Sonys I fixed in this thread they have enough bass to fix the sound. I can’t fit a sub down here unless it’s small. And my amp doesn’t have a sub output. This is a music only system no movies.
Insignia ns str514
Thanks

I’m surprised that the Sonys are better speakers they look built cheaper. Guess there bass reflex design is better??? I’m sure if I asked about them on popular audio sites people would say they are junk.

They aren’t better speakers, they simply appeal more to your ears. Nothing wrong with that, it saves money.
Also, no speakers are junk, some just weren’t shown as much love in the womb.
I guess so I use Klipsch in my main room this is my basement set up. I wish I had a stereo receiver with a sub output but until then I’ll just use whatever speakers sound the best !!!
I had a little sub attached but it broke and it wasn’t worth fixing . RCA brand . Guess I bought it broken and didn’t know. Oops
Thanks for the help.
