Maybe your spade connectors had corrosion on them. Try listening for a while then changing back?

Reversing the main input cleaned those terminals a bit. Then swapping on the drivers cleaned 6 driver contacts. Can you swap the XO connections to clean them as well?
If all the internal connections are those pluggy things, a soldering gun might well take it a level higher yet.

If there is (there is Allen?) a thing like amplifier asymmetry as AllenB said, then flipping the polarity at the loudspeaker terminals can have a different result than flipping at the driver terminals. Flipping at the driver terminals maintains the in-line passive components at the same side from the amp's point of view, whereas flipping at the speaker terminal not. Of course this is only true if the passive filter is not balanced, but I bet this is not the case.

^ There is. I'm talking about amplifiers that produce more than a little second harmonic distortion, as do conventional woofers. When you think about it, you can go double or nothing on that distortion, by changing polarity, which might just make it obvious.
Okay, and what is the result if we flip the polarity on the woofer (with conventional motor) with such an asymmetric amp?

IMO there can be a difference between normal vs inverted kick drums, and possibly any kind of generic "bang!" sound, where IRL the impulse could produce a distorted pressure wave.
I once did a headphone test with positive vs inverted 20Hz sawtooth waves, and there was a *subtle* difference.

Is there anybody has a microphone setup to measure your speaker, regularly? I’m very curious on this matter. We need the evidence to clarify the fact. In the experiments, it is required to swap the speaker cable at input terminal (experiment 1) and at drivers (experiment 2). The frequency response, phase, impedance and harmonic distortion, etc. that usually used when testing or making speakers, kindly help to provide us. Thank you in advance.
