Hi
Speaking of 100000w, maybe PMPO others meant..
but i dont know if it still fits..
and why do they put overpower rating at cassettes with 1000W PMPO for we all know that it is only 50w or something..
and speaking of crown amplifiers, they do work better..we tested 16speakers at 10,000w PA.. and the speakers we used are 18" 500-1kw..IT WORKS BUT TOO DANGEROUS 🙂..

bigwill: xxxULTRAPOWERxxx is a really good brand. You shouldn't have removed the dustcap with the logo, you won't get any girls now. 😀
NOOOO

this was my only hope
Re: Hi
The most exaggerated value I've seen was on some computer speakers... 1000pmpo, 12W rms. 😀

As long as we have a silly thread going...
We should be able to get some serious power out of a TIG welder if we could figure out how to modulate it. Miller's got a nice inverter (switch mode) unit that runs on 220 2-phase. 350 amps--I think those things run about 45 volts, so do the math.
I wonder how many car batteries that would take to run?

1 megawatt PWM inverters exist so it's not inconceivable to build a 1 megawatt amplifier. Let's say it is 80% efficient. So you need 1.2MW of input power, or about 1500 amps per phase at 480 VAC. Still concievable, far from practical. Now here's the kicker. If power costs 10 cents per KW hour it costs you $125 per hour to run it.
Want to use batteries? They make 2.25V cells at about 5000 amp/hours. I suppose they're $10,000 each and you'd need a boat load of them. You also need a charger.
When it's all said and done, get new friends/new life.

Or you could go for the generator option, 1hp is around 750watts... There are alternator losses so I'll assume 500W output per horsepower.
This means the engine would have to constantly generate 2000hp... I doubt fuel would be cheap, and it would also be pretty noisey and

Personally I don't really see any reason to have more than a 2kw amp... I don't think any voicecoil would take 2kw of punishment, and if you want to drive lots of drivers, it often makes more sense to use many small amps instead of some milllion watt monster. 😉
just get 2 or 3 Logitech computer woofers, they are already "rated" close to that and they don't even need a heatsink!
While it won't handle 1MW, here's a sub that will handle 6KW cont. Finally a reason for that 5KW power amp!!😀

Wow, that description is hilarious, what a huge waste of natural resources. And we wonder why there are material shortages???
For the right price, of course, but you'll have to have speakers that will take well over 1000A at 400V+. BTW, it's fully regerative current drive "amplifier" so the speaker will be well controlled. 😉despotic931 said:yea but can i hook it all up to my cassette deck?

But its still awesome to have one of those beasts!
I saw that subwoofer in a four wheeler magazine a couple of years ago. They were at the SEMA auto parts show and MTX was showing one of those behemoths off. They had it hanging by chains from a fork lift. My thought was what a home theater system would sound like with one or two of those as subwoofers, installed at the end of a bass horn, with the screen in front of the output of the horn. Power it with something like a McIntosh MC2KW, and then see how realistic movies like Jurassic Park are!😀

Peace,
Dave

Peace,

Im running an amplifier that give about 5000watts in my car... a little bit short of a million, but still enough... haha
I would think a rotosub falls in under this category hehe
