Hi jaya000,Thanks Dan.
Can u explain in details where is my mistake?
You can save this as a .txt file and import the hornresp record

hi david who have a lot of "metta" for diy. a good idea? if put something like this on ur program.🙂
Hi Thawach,
Thanks for the suggestion.
Unfortunately I have no idea how to go about implementing such functionality 🙂.
I guess it would require that the user be connected to the Internet at the time that Hornresp is opened, so that the program could automatically check for the latest version number stored on a file server somewhere.
Kind regards,
David
That´s the case, indeed.I guess it would require that the user be connected to the Internet at the time that Hornresp is opened, so that the program could automatically check for the latest version number stored on a file server somewhere...
Needs a startup nag that sez
Due to David's ability to rev Hornresp faster than some folks change underwear you probably have an out of date Hornresp, would you like to go to the web and check?

With a bit of "Googling" I managed to find some useful information.
I need to investigate further, but it seems that it may indeed be possible for me to include a "version check" feature in Hornresp, as suggested by Thawach.
Kind regards,
David
David - we can put something together on the webspace if you like. Let´s talk via email.
Hi Sabbelbacke,
Thanks - you've got mail 🙂.

Hornresp Update
Hi Everyone,
For a user connected to the Internet at the time that Hornresp is opened, the program now checks to see if the latest release is being used. An advisory message is generated if the version of Hornresp being used is not the latest.
Note that the most recent version will not be automatically downloaded by Hornresp. It remains necessary for the user to do this manually, thereby retaining full control over the download process. I feel that this is the safest option.
Hornresp Version 29.20 Product Number 2920-120926 refers.
My thanks to Thawach for suggesting the enhancement, and to Sabbelbacke for continuing to host Hornresp for all of us.
Kind regards,
David

Well this is interesting. IMO it would be really beneficial from here on out to have a rolling change log posted so we know what to look for while we are testing.Hi Everyone,

Can you make the link clickable?
I started to track all the changes some time ago but let loose of it when my first born arrived and I didn´t really miss it later on, since I follow this thread and simply use the most recent version all the time.
But the thought of it came to my mind this morning, too. It would be nice too have, yes... I could simply take David´s posts about the changes whenever a new version is done and add them to a changelog, if it´s ok with david.

Can you make the link clickable?
Hi Dan,
As far as I know it is not possible to specify a clickable URL link as part of a standard Visual Basic dialog box. I have done some further "Googling" though and have found some other things I can try. This is all new to me so it may take a little time...
Kind regards,
David McBean
if it´s ok with david.
Hi Sabbelbacke,
Not a problem 🙂.
I will of course continue to make small refinements to Hornresp which are not documented. The product number will change but the version number will stay the same.
These undocumented changes will still trigger the new update message in Hornresp.
Kind regards,
David
Just keeps getting better and better.
Ok ignorant question here:
DOes the horn data output from Hornresp give me a format I could use to create a horn in a CAD program?
If it could that would speed up a whole bunch of things.

Can't stand sketchup, but I have to admit that is a cool way of doing it.
I'm trying to migrate over to Alibre CAD.
I worked for a few years as a graphics guy, I find that Sketchup while very useful drives me crazy in it's user interface. More than one perfectly correct dude has told me to bite the bullet and lernit.

Something similar to this intelligent piece of work:
Horn folding in AutoCAD
Wish it could work with conical horns.
