None of these is likely to be thought of as complex. The charm of the SITs
like that of the Triode is that they shine in simple circuits.

Anyway, once you have a pair of SITs you can move them from project to project.

Any chance one of the Tokin projects be something less. simple circuit in DEF topology..or surprise ?
My hope low hanging fruits is become mature in 2022 then start builds with this powerful triodes

Ben's version of the follower sounds crazy good. I'm interested in what Nelson has to say about the bias circuit and Mu current source.

I'm also considering the choke loaded version to cut the heat for the summer.

Yes, the mu follower common drain THF-51S sure is toasty. I'm listening to it right now and it's also providing fine music. It's a great winter amp.

There are already three Pass Sony VFET amps out there. There is the good old push-pull from 2016 or so, and the two single-ended versions (positive and negative sexes). Even more Sonys on the agenda?

2SJ18 / 2SK60 they have one die inside and 2SJ28 / 2SK82 have two of them the same size in parallel.
Tokin SIT have one large semiconductor die inside

from a foreign source but I just refuse to pay $25 or more to ship a 1/2 oz part .

punching holes and cutting them with sharp scissors isn't big deal

This is what I use. I punch my own holes, and mount the SIT on the diagonal. Both Digikey and Mouser sell it. I don't know what Digikey or Mouser charge for shipping in the USA though. I usually include it in an order of CAN $100 or more which qualifies for free shipping to Canada.
