Vintage Norelco is today Philips company name..my contemporary beard shaver....
anyway last time test 12" alnico with Papa Sony SE Vfet was primadonna audio quality
so Tokin SIT amp can sing easy with this drivers.
does don't Audiophiles trim his beards with music audio waves ?
Sound potentiaĺ in class A ? Tokin triodes ( generous power and gain but higher distorstion )
compared to Sony ( moderate on flea side power with single device , modest gain but low distortion )

What different ( or similar ? ) character of the sound is compared to SemiS and Sony triodes

Excellent news, but also a quandry: I have 2 matched pairs of THF51Ss, 1 pair of 2SK180s and two just completed SissySIT boards. Should I use one pair of THFs in the SissySit or curb my impatience, wait and see? 🙂

use THF in Sissy, so you can trust in all published numbers , how good it is in fabricating THD where it is not present in signal

save other ones for Papa's concoctions .... I bet he made them to accommodate any of "usual" ones

do not underestimate Papa's Wakoo, never

though, he's always taking care of tender Greedy Boyz, restraining his full Wakoo, letting loose for FW and PL

(few cases when he wasn't so careful, resulted in plenty of tears - F5T being one of them - not exactly Lego realm; but - then - more than useful - some learning we must pay )

I just have one pair of Tokins, but I decided to build a SissySit since its available now.

I figure I could probably convert it later to a new Pass design, if I'm motivated enough.
If I could re-use the case, and PS from the SissySit (seems likely), cost and effort should not be too bad, I expect.

From my memory in one of his post Papa write us first design is simple the next other is more complex topology amplifier

None of these is likely to be thought of as complex. The charm of the SITs
like that of the Triode is that they shine in simple circuits.

Anyway, once you have a pair of SITs you can move them from project to project.
