I only can say he sold it for a great price.
To listen to any video on Youtube depends on a lot of things.
From the recording microphone to the headphone. You know that. He uploaded a couple of videos I am not sure the quality of his recording.
All I can write what he wrote to me "it sounded better than the power transistors type"
He built both of them.
He sold the V Fet type because he built something 50W type which outperformed both.

there are output transistors hfe differences.
2sa1302 107 hfe.
2sc3281 80 hfe. will it cause any problems to use it like this.
I have extra transistors that I removed from an old device, I have extra pairs, I can even use them in parallel to solve the problem.

I think that the compund output transistor pair make up for small differences: the driver and the output are 'integrated' and give a sort of local feedback. That 'should' be able to cater for such differences. Such that the golabl feed back for iinstance stays the same and does not suffer from lack of headroom.
