I am planning (looking at my money and counting
) a SV572-3 SE amplifier.
If I want a tube rectifier. What tube can I use. I have close to 2000 Volt from negativ half periode to DC level. Current 200 mA.
Any good idears?

Take a look at damper diodes like 6AU4, 6AX4 and such.
I have a bunch that I´m giong to use in a 750V PSU for an 813 amp, if you google a little you can find info about using such as power rectifiers

How about the PY 500A
Used as Horizontal Efficiency diode in many old British/European TV's--Usually easy to find, and reasonably priced NOS........
As I recall, the PIV is 2.5KV, with anode 500mA More than enough for your PSU.
Drawback is the heater volts around 36 if I recall correctly! Are you thinking Bridge or half bridge rec?

Exists in 6.3v heather version, know as EY500.
They feature very hi heather to cathode insulation that may save two additionnal (and heavy insulated) winding from the Xformer.
Philips says 6KV peak.

Well, It has been nearly 20 years since I was a TV engineer playing round with the likes of Pye Hybrids and Decca 30's!--Whats a few volts between friends!😀
