I do not need that you help me in this design, this topology is good for a particular aplication, I tested them to discover some weakness because almost the people say that work so well..., and this is not completly true. Look what wuffwaff says, me and other members.
About pcbs, I do not coment, because the pmchoong has already answer what do you not want to hear.

Banzas, you seems like a very experience and knowledgeable person and judging by your comments above, it seems like most PCBs makers of Alephs series do rip Nelson in one way or another. But, didn't the great Nelson himself offered his hard work on some of the Alehp series to the DIY community? If this is so, then what is wrong in doing some PCBs for other DIY fellows who are not well equipt in this field? Obviously the person who did the PCBs have to spend some time and the initial cost in building these and isn't it fair that he charged some money for this? Unless he opens up a company and sells 'DIY' kits of the Aleph series or if he sells the Aleph PCBs series to individuals or companies who then pumped it into the market as commercial product, then this is wrong and illegal. I do not condorned the act of infringing into anyone's copyrights or trademarks, I just do not understand. I am going tru these posts as I intend to build the Aleph 5 and I do not wish to breach on Nelson's patent or copyrights. But I think it should be easier, especially for any first timers like myself, who have never seen a real mosfet before in his whole life, to stuff board and learn (maybe even quicker) rather than going tru all those technical stuffs from ground up. I apologise to anyone who is offended by my statement above and I sincerely apologise to Nelson if my above statement did offend you in anyway, which I have no intention to. I have great admiration and respect to Nelson for his talent and generosity to the DIY community. I don't see any other person with such capability and god's gift offering such benefit to the DIY community.

I don't understand. Why is what 'diy-gene' is doing considered illegal and others like 'KK-pcb design' or maybe the 'mini aleph' is considered legal? Do they (the 'legal' ones) obtain permission from Nelson himself? Or are they just like 'diy-gene'? Should I get one from those 'legal' ones? What are the difference between these PCBs? Should't they be all the same since it is an based 'aleph 5' schematic?

I'm sorry that it continues to be unclear to everyone. Pass Labs
and First Watt own a number of trademarks that we are compelled
to defend, particularly in Asia.

I have given blanket permission for people to use various
proprietary designs belonging to PL or FW in not-for-profit efforts.
However even these not-for-profit efforts need to respect the
trademarks and make reference to them only in ways that do not
imply that the item comes from or is endorsed by me, Pass Labs,
or First Watt.

As an example, we have a problem when somebody labels a PC
board "Pass Labs" or "XA100" but not when someone uses the
label "Aleph 3 Clone". The label must not imply that this is the
genuine article.

It's not too hard to see when the trademarks are used in a
misleading way, and at some point it becomes clear when the
product is a commercial effort, not simply sharing at cost.

I think this is the same thing I observed in my Aleph5 and Aleph-X. The active current sources ability to deliver current is frequency dependent, meaning that at higher frequencies (from 15kHz) it won´t deliver as much extra current - the active part - as it does at lower frequencies.

Look what happens if you deactivate the active part of the current source (remove the capacitor).

Thanks Nelson. Now I understand a bit more and I am glad that I did searched further before commiting myself to those who offer these PCBs.

The above is a simple and clear explaination of what is right and what is wrong.

This is the difficult part. I can see some people did label their PCBs as 'Aleph Clone', which, of course, does not violate the copyrights but then, 'it is not hard to see' that these are 'commercial effort' and not 'sharing at cost' effort. I do not wish to support other people's illegal activities and profiting them at Nelson's expense but what these people are doing is actually legal.
I do not wish to DIY something that will haunt my conscience. I just want to build the Aleph 5....the easy way.....so that I am able to enjoy my piece of work....thanks to Nelson. What should I do?

Sorry if this is a stupid question : why aren't the PCBs the same? If it is based on the same schematic, it should be the same. I can understand the different layout of the electrical components since each person has his own way of placing these but why the huge different in components used and complexity? Why some are so small in size and some have complex design while some just a few simple lines on the board? If the components use on the board follows the schematic, the the size of all the boards should be roughly the same, isn't this true? Thanks in advance.
