Hi,

This only tells me that you didn't understand it either.

Oh, but I know it all too well...BTDT a long time ago already.
What's been discussed in the Hawksfords thread is sooo old you wouldn't even believe it when I told you how old it really is.

You seem to know so much about them that I don't believe anylonger you didn't build one.

What's to know about such an amplifier is exactly the same as there is to know about any other amp really.
The difference here is simply that you're stuck with a chip you can do nothing about.

So, besides IGC and NIGC you're left with the PS and a few passive components...Big deal?
Yes, you have an opportunity here to really go beyond what's been done commercially before...

But for that you also need to know what matters and why, don't you?
Maybe someone may need a "steenking consultant", maybe not.

Cheers,😉

What does it take to build a really good SET amp, few parts too, but when you read Herb Reichert article, it seems like it's almost a magikal process, to build one.

Yes! Yes! he sees the light.................😀

Like it has anything to do with this line:

Thinking is good. Listening is better. Listening and thinking about what you are hearing is best

Who are you trying to impress, Frank?

Hi,

What does it take to build a really good SET amp, few parts too, but when you read Herb Reichert article, it seems like it's almost a magikal process, to build one.

And? Is that amp a "really good" one?
If yes, can you tell me why and what sets it apart from the ordinary SET amp?

Thinking is good. Listening is better. Listening and thinking about what you are hearing is best

Before you can even start to think about why you're hearing what you're hearing you need to know why you're hearing what you're hearing.

Impressed?

Cheers,😉

Excuse me...

...I made a break, I was just finishing regulating another one.😀

Came back and saw these beauties:

As usually you are right to the point. If it wasn't for commercial thing I would have probably still claimed that inverted topology is the best.
😱
Impressive.

Peter Daniel said:
But response we got from customers, claiming that Gaincard sounded better, didn't let us ignore that fact, and eventually we tried the non inverting amps. From that moment there is simply not going back. We now often receive a different type of response: that AMP-1 is actually preferred to GainCard.

Peter, Peter...
Are you sure you know how to evaluate an amp?
You need your customers to tell you that?:bawling:
