Thanks Jocko,
Easy ! Everything ...... The Tv smps noise, The Vcr smps noise, The washing machine smps noise, etc, etc ........
BTW - My electronic controlled/driven washing machine kicks out quite a lot of airborne RF noise, and noise back onto the AC power lines.
My audio sounds friendlier with this washer unplugged.
Eric.
No telling what all gets through the line then.

Wouldn't all the concern about the audio line power / quality of power supplies depend on the PSRR?
I mean, a good amplifier can ignore a certain amount of power supply ripple, that's the whole point of a good PSRR.
Oh No, I think I jumped into a bad thread 😀

Hello jgwinner, theoretically you are correct, but in practice that junk still gets through.
Powering the system from a decent line filter (from mini-computer salvage) and isolation transformer cleans things quite amazingly.
l/r imaging, depth imaging, blackness etc - ie everything just improves, a a more pleasant overall sonic resultant.
It seems 240v (or 110) is not just 240v (110).
Regards, Eric.

I achieved similar results (including much tighter bass) by running dedicated 30A lines to my system (I used gauge 10 wire). I have separate lines for left channel amps, right channel amps and sources. Don't regret doing that.🙂
I was never using power conditioners.
