Need recommendations for a driver:
Size: 7-9 inch woofer
Budget: $275 ea
Efficiency: Min 91db
Prefer sealed box
Will be used in range of F3 to 300hz
Does not need to go too low say F3 @ 50hz
I may be dreaming but I haven't found anything that fits the bill yet.😕
Thanks.

Not sure of any other than the JA-8008 HMQ. I have a friend who has a pair and might be willing to sell them but that means customs + postage to inflate the price (considerably).

These used to be $220... https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.c...s-excel-w22ny-001-e0045-8-nextel-cone-woofer/
For under $200 you can purchase a PAIR of SB23NRXS45-8 woofers with combined over 91db/watt and mount them in a counter-force, push-pull arrangement to remove vibration. Sealed 2.5cuft box will reach 50Hz without equalization. With L3=0.6mH, these are musical woofers with very good sounding high frequency extention.
I should mention this would be used in a hi end system with very revealing electronics. I did find several choices at US Speaker but not sure if those compare SQ wise with JA and SB etc. BTW I could go up as much as a 10 inch driver.
You'd have to specify 91 dB/1W/1m or 91 dB/2,83V/1m?
Half space or open space? That dB spec one gets with TS
paremeters is a half space value. When you put it in a box
and equalize baffle step, you get a lower value.

I am currently using a dayton RS270 and i want something at least 3db more efficient. It's cheaper than doubling my amp size 🙂
Which dimension the room has?
DY-1256U. Push-pull-arrangement, as mentioned. To regard any parameters would not be necessary.
The bigger the room the more drivers. Because very cheap and/but very very good.-)

300 m^2? Uiuiui.
The HGS is a roaring box. These deeps are really very low end. In my mind. For real "sub" you do need much more diameter, rigider casings, cleaner amps. In my mind.

Jim,
Have you considered PA drivers?
Will I get the SQ needed? Although I don't want to limit myself I want to make sure I am using a driver that does not compromise SQ.
Depends on what the designer does with all these bits. 😀
How many Watts do you need from your amps?

I have a 130 watt amp (Modwright LS100SE)
300 m^2? Uiuiui.
That would be huge but I think the OP is american so it may refer to feet which would make the room a much more reasonable 27.8m^2.

Sooooo nice

AE TD10M-8 is a very nice driver for a two way speaker in a ported
cabinet to get an F3=60 Hz. It would be a lot of money spent just to
play the 50-300Hz region and in order to properly make a XO point
to a sub, you'd want that kick bass placed in a sealed box with the
right Qtc. Did you have DSP filters in mind?

Yes in a fleeting moment I admit I was dreaming I had $800 to spend on 2 woofers. 😀 That won't happen.
