I bought this Faital 18HP1060 sub speaker recently and now I am trying to figure out the best box alignment. I am using Jeff Bagby's Excel sheet to model.
Can anyone on the forum give me feedback if the design makes sense or not before I waste a lot of time and wood?
I was also modeling for a FB of 30 Hz, but the box just turned out to be too big for the lowered F3 and the gain of a few Hz lower did not make sense.
I intent to drive this with a 3e-audio TPA3255 single channel amp from an active crossover. I modeled excursion with an input of 300W, which is more than I will ever use, even when running this rig outside in the meadow.
Any serious feedback is appreciated and thanks to Jeff (RIP) and Charlie Laub for providing the software (and the excellent DSELF designed preamp).
A link to the excel sheet is included below from my google drive.

Hmm, I immediately saw that the Sd, Vas specs are much smaller, so no point in going further till corrected: FaitalPRO | LF Loudspeakers | 18HP1060
That said, 'best' overall from a power handling Vs transient response is a Vb = measured Vas [or at least published]/1.44 tuned to actual Fs, though with only 300 W on tap it can be safely tuned to 32 Hz with a simmed ~115 dB/m/2pi/27.5 Hz, the lowest note on a standard piano.
For a low vent mach, an 8" dia. vent is required.

Thanks for pointing out the errors in the spreadsheet. I will of course correct them and follow your advice and see what I can come up with.
I found the reason for the discrepancy in some of the small signal parameters: The data sheet on the website was updated in July - the one I used was from a few month earlier. I am surprised about the update since this speaker has been around for a while. Makes me wonder if the manufacturing process has changed.
In the end, the differences in the simulation did not seem too big.

Modeled with the specs of the manual of the Faital (beware,...must not be the "true numbers", should always be measured to be sure!), it comes down to 32 hz f3 Box size is 230 Liters or 8,122 qft, with a port area of 400 cm2 and 21 cm lenght 🙂
Hope it might helps...
