so as long as the length of the pipe is 75.5 and i make the height and depth as small as possible as long as the driver fits? should i keep the magnet at least a certain distance from the wood behind it? or is making it as close as possible(to ensure minimum depth) okay? Thanks!

Well, if it has a rear vent, then it will need some breathing space to the rear wall, otherwise I'd mount it almost right up against it with some bracing to support it.

BTW, for the record, I just noticed that 75.5" is a typo, it should be 72.5", not that it will matter.
