I have this great big torodial transformer whch is encapsulated and and has built in thermal shut off. I have no idea what VA rating it has but judging by its size it would be at least 400VA. I cant seem to find a circuit to take advantage of it, any ideas?
By the way I can lay my hands on another for peanuts.

Suggestion 1:
Buy a Tripath module in the TDA10XA series and build one hell of an amp for subs etc.
Suggestion 2:
Build the most overpowered BoSoZ in the crowd.
Suggestion 3:
Build an Aleph P just as overpowered as the BoSoZ. If the transformer is not center tap but dual secondaries the dual mono is nice.

I am in Ireland
I would consider passing this one on to get me off the hook !!
Postage to America could be crippling.

I have something like that too
I also search the web theese days for somthing special..
I have transformer from Hill DX-1500, like 800-1000 VA 60~-0-60~V !! (about 85-0-85 V DC)
Very powerfull transformer but i can't use it ?!?

You want a great project... ...try find some 100V caps for the filtering. 🙂 Sometimes finding caps is more work than the amp itself. (Unless you're boring, and just buy some)

See www.sealelectronics.com -- you could do a very nice OptiMOS amp with 85V rails.
Lucky guy
maybe you have a balanced isolation transformer from these guys:
http://www.equitech.com/
They make stand alone models down to something like 500VA, and are a great answer for cleaning up line noise. These things are used in alot of broadcast and recording studios for achiving the lowest mains noise. Look in their Technical Papers/Articals section for lots of info. I want one!!!!

Just buy the boards. $64 for the pair. The parts list is a little different for the 400w version. You should be able to locate the rest of the components quite easily as he doesn't use any exotic hard to find parts in any of his designs. I'm building the 200w version with the 400w to follow....Brad🙂
