H2 as a preamp – build documentation – part 1 – chassis preparation

I've built Wayne's 2018 line stage as well - and it's the most transparent preamp I currently have, though my Aikido is not far behind.

Wayne's BA 2018 preamp combined with my SissySIT is an amazing combination - the most musically intriguing and at the same time the most transparent / most detail combo I have. 😀

Unfortunately, Wayne's BA 2018 pre does not mesh well with my EL84 PP amp - together way too much gain, and made the tubes go noisy ... 😱

Have fun building the H2 and the Iron Pre, they are all amazing preamps ...

Best regards, Claas

Loving Wayne's Pre.

SissySIT is on my list. Getting the SITs is the stressy part... But you are not the first to report on its awesomeness. ItsAllInMyHead (P. Anderson) said the SissySit sounds like an F5 and an Aleph J had a baby. I love both of those amps—the only 2 I've made so far—and that's a very enticing description.

no stress , considering that you have pras1701 around , and he's willing to measure them, and send silicon sheet and plastic bushings with them

and there is watanabetomoaki on ebay , too

all you need is to give 2 hundreds for them ....... and be happy while doing that , just searching for prices of some not so pricier toobz...... thinking how with SIT you're getting toob packed with output xformer , practically , with life-long exploitation time

not saying that SIT is better than toob , comparison strictly from rarity point but also taking in account some similarities in sound

also not belittling toob technology ........ I'm probably greatest Toob Lover here in Papaland ....... what resorted my activities to sand box is fact that for toobz you need output xformer as important element , I'm Dumb to make my own and I hate depending on someone else when my play-fun is in question

and yes , that Baby of Aleph J and F5 is more like Alien in character , comparing to its parents

:devilr:

blame Pa , as always
