Hi-
Looking to get some really clear gut shots of an original/clean Gibson GA-5 Skylark (Blonde). Is there anyone out there who has one who would be willing to post a few pics? It would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Thanks for posting but this is the latter version. Here is a link that shows all the different versions. Skylark_ga_5
Thanks for posting though. Still cool to look at!

I did find that one on a google search and they are pretty good. There is another one also from that same site. Thanks again for taking the time to look. It would be great if there was a wiring diagram somewhere. Thanks!

Wow! Cool blog. Amazing craftsmanship. I wish I had all those tools. The re-issue version is slightly different (12ax7 and EL84). Also, I won't be using a circuit board. The main reason I wanted a gut shot was to see different ways in which people handled the 3 filter caps or multi can. Wanted to see an original as well as a refurbished or rebuilt one. Also interested in checking out the grounding scheme.

Here is another gut shot with 6V6... but its wiring is similar to the old version, you would hate to see what the guy did with it though... butchers!
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
FWIW my FIRST tube amp build, in February 1969 (seems like yesterday) was a clone of a Gibson GA5, straight from the Jack Darr book pages, with a 12AX7, a 6V6 and a silicon rectifier , all solid wire bent to 90 degrees á la Hiwatt, etc.
Boy was I proud !!! 🙂
So this post sure brings some warm memories up 🙂

I totally agree - a really great build, and I love his tools😀
Great find. The grounding scheme really isn't that bad, there're worse ones.
